NSW Fair Trading is responsible for the regulation of the motor vehicle repair industry in New South Wales through the Motor Dealers and Repairers Act 2013. It does this through the licensing of motor vehicle repair businesses and the certification of tradespeople working in those businesses. It also promotes improvements in the standard of motor vehicle repair work and assists motor vehicle owners and repairers to settle disputes over the cost or quality of repairs.
